Since the start of 20176 Houston has already seen a few days of 30C weather.  We also had one hard freeze of -4C.  That has left a lot of brown leaves around.

Thanks, Mike, Buddy and Ron and Akira and Erik for keeping this pot boiling.

Ron - to get +30 and -4 in the same season is some kind of weird; we don't get these extremes - minus 4 yes, plenty; but +30 in winter? Not in my lifetime.

Mike - I've seen that kind of snow a few times in Japan and I like it; but when it happens you are best not to want to get anywhere in a hurry. (Sally is still frisking around like a puppy, btw.)

Meanwhile, today in Killin was very warm, wet and windy, as will tomorrow be; snow is forecast for Thursday.

That's good news, Dave. May it continue.
