Nice picture, from one of your usual spots, and yes, it smells of spring.
People usually are happy to hear that spring is (may be) coming.
Not me, at least this year. This winter has been totally underwhelming, and I still hope there will be a lash at its tail end.

Similar lack of snow here in Michigan, upper 50s all this week. 

I enjoyed your image.  Have been watching the "Shetland" TV series and see the similarities.  I understand most of the series has been filmed on the Scottish mainland,k with some specific stuff at Lerwick.

I would struggle not having trees.

Interestingly the temperature here in Tokyo doesn't go as low as the weather forecast tells.  That said, it is not rare that we have heaviest snowfalls around the beginning of March.  So, I'll stay "hoped" (as guy born in Sapporo!).

Randy - I don't know of that series - I'll Google it. Shetland has very few trees but Scotland has plenty, though the hills are bare.

With the global warming I think what we experience is how sensitive the "around 0°C" regions you and I live in are to slight temperature increases.
My girlfriend and I visited the local arboretum yesterday and more than one species of trees were in spring mode so to speak.

It does indeed look like an early spring - lovely landscape, Dave.

Spring is not quite here in the Hakuba Valley, Japan - this was taken just last week. And another metre of snow is predicted for this week!

3 hours worth of snow here in Northrhine Westfalia, Germany. Then it was back to rain and temperatures that allow me to wear a t-shirt rather then a warm jacket

Mike, that looks much more familiar to me than Dave's beautiful landscape. 

Erik, the snow in the area in Japan is generally very wet and heavy.
