Catching up on Jan. 2017
« on: February 05, 2017, 21:32:24 »
I only got started a couple of days ago, to process my January files. Here's a few of what I found -

1.  My secret garden
2.  Erosion / gullies / run-off
3.  Loch Lubnaig
4.  The Pineapple House
5.  Blue-tit
6.  Loch Tay
7.  Our northern hills
8.  Loch Tay flood-plain
9.  Jackdaw sunset
10. My favourite forest is being logged.

All except the last sad one are beautiful, as always.

Is the forest disappearing, not just being thinned?

Is the 500mm f8.0 lens a reflex Nikkor?

Thank you, Akira.
The forest is being clear-felled; in six months or so. it will no longer exist.

The 500mm f8 lens is actually the 200-500 f5.6, at f8.   ;D  The lens is so incredibly inexpensive - for what you get - I just couldn't resist any longer.

Sorry about the forest.  I wonder what is worth clear-cutting the forest...

I've heard only good things about the super-zoom.

Each image has been beautifully seen and framed and each a stand alone success. Mongo understands the last image but agrees with Akira that it does not have the same impact in the company of the other images posted in this set. Lovely work as always David.

Thanks to everyone - Akira, Lars, Floyd, Mongo, Armando and Thomas - for your generous comments. I realise that #10 is in a different category to the other images, but the felling of the Glen Ogle forest (which several NG members visited with me last May) is something I will probably return to, in documentary mode.

I love them all, especially the landscapes.
Is the eroded hillside the same place that we saw together near Strath Fillan?
