Okay, I have been reading this forum with envy, since everybody seems to possess the knowledge, skills and tools to fix their own lenses. I have a nice clean AI 35/2 but the focusing is very tight. It has been getting tighter bit by bit and soon it'll be so tight that something will definitely break. I could have it serviced, sure.

But... I can't help being curious. Can I do the helicoid relube myself? Any caveats with this particular lens? What kind of grease do I need? Financially the risk is minimal, if I break it I just toss it and get a new one.

So, to lube or not to lube?  8)

You need special tools to open a lens, and grease, not recommended.
