Nice to see so many familiar photographers here
« on: June 29, 2015, 05:34:08 »
James Fitzgerald here.

After a move from Arizona back to Colorado I'm back where I belong.
I'll miss some of the photography opportunities and some friends made there, but won't miss the climate.

Took a break from photography during the building of our new home in Colorado and after the death of my close friend Carolyn Guild. (which many of you here have known, or known her work.) Life goes on, so I will get back to making photographs.

This was  the last photograph I made before Carolyn died. Somehow it seems appropriate.

James: welcome back. I was fortunate to meet you and Caroline and that made an everlasting impression.

Great photo, by the way. The black spots on the woodwork do much to enhance it.

Bjørn, I remember those boots. Carolyn was one of a kind. I'm glad I got to know her.

Many thanks to all of you for the nice welcome. Batteries are all charged, and a new computer is coming tomorrow. I'll do my best to provide some new photographs in the near future.

Hello, James.

The news about Carolyn was upsetting.

Where are you living in Colorado?

Well hi Rick and Lew.

Very Glad I found this place. I've always loved your street work Rick. looking to see more soon.

Lew, I've missed your photographs and especially your wit. Your writing always makes your images come to life.

Carolyn was a good friend and I miss her. I spent some nice times at her cabin in Utah shooting some wonderful ice photographs and skiing . She was quite passionate about photography. She certainly taught me a lot about printing. I really considered her a master at digital B&W printing. A well known gallery owner here in Denver was so impressed with her prints he gave her a show. In the beginning he believed her prints to be silver.

I'm now in Castle Rock, Colorado, a small town between Denver and Colorado Springs. Although still somewhat urban we have abundant open space with streams, meadows with wildflowers and miles of trails to explore. At 6500' it's a perfect place for me, not too hot, not too cold.

Welcome James, good to have you here and I'm looking forward to your new work :)

And Carolyn will be missed for sure, besides being a very pleasant personality she was a big inspiration to get into black and white photography.
Cheers,
Jan Anne
