Used on my Arca-Swiss F-line 6x9 technical camera .... A fantastic lens, by the way.

A dangerous subject to capture as one needs thin fresh ice ("black ice") to get an idea of the submerged parts, but such ice easily breaks :(

Sometimes, even the spring ice can reveal fascinating scenes. Here are decomposing pads of the Yellow Water Lily (Nuphar lutea) thawing out of the rotten ice. This kind of ice is utterly unreliable and it is folly to walk the ice as it is liable to break anywhere one least expect it to crack up. Hence I had to use a long lens (200/2 AFS Nikkor + TC-14E') and focus stacking to get my shot.

A first of TC14E Erik-Lund-modified to be a fully contacted Extension Ring. Nikon D600 @ ISO=12800 & f/1.4

Sushi @ bad light & very high ISO / developed in NX-D ... better (less impressionistic) pictures to come ... I was hungry and did not want to carry the light into the dining area

In strongly acidified lakes, the primary biological response might be a massive proliferation of thread-like algae.  Amongst a lot of ecological ramifications, these algae might act as a diffraction grating for incident sunlight. The phenomenon is plainly visible in this underwater scene with diatomaceous algae and pads of hybrid Yellow Water lily (Nuphar lutea x pumila).
