Saracens v Gloucester (1)
« on: January 08, 2017, 20:44:19 »
I had the opportunity to photograph a Premier League rugby match from the touchline.  My local team, Saracens (in black), currently second in the table, defeated Gloucester 24-20.

This was the first time I have photographed a rugby match.  With all sports, the action is often obscured by a player; in the case of rugby, the players are so big that this is a real problem!  Other problems are the changing light during the winter afternoon, and the fact that the action is often a long way away.  I was shooting the D3s with the 80-400 VRII; the camera is fast enough, but the lens is not.  Still, I was happy with some of the shots, even though most had to be viewed at 100%.

Somew strong male bodies in action. I can understand your fascination. Rugby is it?

Thanks, all for the kind comments.

Frank, I am not a rugby fan.  But I like shooting sports - both male and female.

Thomas, the height is achieved with the aid of team members
