Taken on Queen Street West here in Toronto.
I was walking along when I came upon a young girl cleaning the glass patio panel in front of a restaurant.
Using a wide lens and a slow shutter speed, I grabbed this shot.
Converted to black and white in Photoshop

Why "hmmmmmmmmm"?
I've been finding lately that many of my colour photos look better when converted to black and white. Not all, but many.

Many folk, including me, love Velvia for it's color rendition, so it just seems strange to me to see it converted to B&W. Not that there's anything wrong with doing that.

Sometimes black and white just looks better to me, regardless of the film stock used to take the original picture.
Besides, my choice of film is largely dependent on what I get when I grab a fistful from the freezer. I have a mix of Sensia, Velvia, Provia, Ektachrome, RSX, and so on because it all came from my photobuds who gave it to me when they went Digital.
I don't pretend to be a film maven. for me 100 ISO is 100 ISO and if I don't like the way a particular shot looks, I can change the colour balance in Photoshop anyway.

Well, the nice thing about it is that there are no rules, the artist controls the palette. One thing that always gets me riled up are folks that try to force other folks to be bound by arbitrary rules.
