I will, gladly, do that Elsa, as soon I get the 'daw' for the lens and the trip.

I always give some good advise under such circumstances - sell the wife and kids :)

Lovely little birds!

I like #3, as it is the only one where one can really see that incredibly bright blue!

This a beautiful bird and your shots show it off very well. I like that you got the catchlight in the bird's eye.

I appreciate that patience is a necessary disposition of the bird photographer but it is worth it even if you have to take 400 shots.

Here's mine. An unusual circumstance. Little bird had flown into a window, dazed a bit, and perched in the hand for several minutes. Then flew off, as vigorous as ever. Nikon 200-500 lens on D7200, shot in Africa last fall.

ColSebastianMoran - how funny is that - same thing happened here a couple of years ago - and I have an almost identical photo of two birds on the hand. Arent they just so small!
Thank you Basker and Arthur.

This is in fact a Pygmy Kingfisher, rather than a Malachite.
The fact that the Pygmy is both rarer and even smaller and faster than the Malachite of course makes your photo even more special.

Thank you, Peter, for the correction and additional info. Was a very special few moments with this bird.
