The spider is showing its underside (it is upside down) but we see the top of the earwig.  I suspect a staged shot.

Thank, Anthony !

The earwig was bitten. But the spider didn't eat it.

I had put the earwig in the jar were I was keeping the spider (for further pictures) to observe what would happen. my camera was ready.

I guess the spider begun its hibernation  but was still active with predatory behaviour.

More image will follow.

It's indeed a staged shot, which is obvious.

I put the earwig in the presence of the spider to see what would happen. ;)

Michael, this is a lovely addition to the theme started by Rosko

And the latest one seems to have more independence and attitude than I'd ever have credited these creatures with :)

A great picture Michael, its the first time I feel sympathy for these little creatures and I think it will change my attitude towards them !
