The description of the 75/1 virtually equals that of the later Repro-Nikkor 85 mm f/1. I wonder whether its area coverage didn't suffice for the 24x36 (35) mm film format and that lead to it being replaced with the 85? The text does state it is designed for 1:1 repro work for 35 mm film, though. Very confusing.

One could probably forego a focusing mount and attach the lens directly to make it 1:1. The examples show the expected high definition and super smooth bokeh, just like the 85/1.
