Mountains by moonlight (2nd image added)
« on: November 11, 2016, 11:52:55 »
There was an aurora alert yesterday evening but no visible aurora, not here, anyway. However I did shoot a  few night sky images - this is the Tarmachan range, lit by a 3/4 moon. (D600, 28/f2 Ais at f4)

#2 - the same scene shot with the 105/2.5 AIS - PS6 and Neat Image both used for noise-removal.

AND, you have snow now.
Looks like I timed my visit wrong :(

I very much envy the photographic opportunities that living in Killin provides you.

Simone - don't fret over it - we have had only one shootable day (yesterday) in the past week. The weather has been dull, cold and wet - remind you of anything?

Erik - cool is the word. It was only about -2C but an hour of hanging around with the camera gear convinced me that what I needed most was a swift injection of Glenlivet 12-year-old. Indoors.

Elsa - I also don't like the big black area, but at the same time I feel that all that height of tree and sky needs a solid (visual) base to support it. Sometimes there just isn't a perfect solution.

It most certainly does.
It hasn't been that enjoyable here either, and the coming weekend does not look good.
