Very nice pictures, reminds me of the times when my farther worked at the B&W engine factory at Christanshavn.
Those engines are impressive, you need an elevator to get to the top  ;)

After seeing this kind of machinery in vitro I can only begin to appreciate how difficult and challenging their depiction really is. The first image is simply amazing. I assume the boughs and their greenery convey a message other than that of presenting an image scale?

It is also evident that optics without any significant longitudinal CA is a godsend in creating the detailed documentation of all the intricate, shining machine parts.

On my 105 VR the use of a polarising filter seem to reduce CA?

Exemplary product shots...no, actually these are not just the product shots.  They make me want to scrutinize the details!

Indeed - what more can one say, and especially the first one as Bjørn and others have noted.

What lenses did you use Erik?

Great series.  The first one is indeed impressive.  And the others are very crisp and full of detail.

Eric, as someone who worked for some years at a government research establishment that tested diesels, I'm impressed by the cleanliness of your test cell.

Our diesels powered trains and minesweepers!

Thanks, Erik - very interesting stuff and excellent images. The first images of the pistons and valve gear were not only beautifully shot, but fascinating too.

Technically and motif'ally very good shots!
I can very well see a polished, clean Terminator looking for a kill in those last images  ;D
