People in Rome
« on: October 31, 2016, 17:32:00 »
I have spent a few days in Rome last week. A lot of history there in buildings, sites and institutes, but I also did some street photography with my stealth black J5.

Good frames and outstanding faces(except for the nun, who's face is not visible)...Fellini would be happy.

Yes, excellent portraits.    Did you shoot in B&W?

Excellent !

I went to your flickr page to see what lens was giving you that nice shallow DOF

Do you use the touch screen on the J5 ? do you like it ?

Thanks Keith, John & Armando !

@ John, I did the B&W conversion with Nik Silver Efex (in Lightroom).

@ Armando, I sometimes use the touch screen to take pictures. But as it is very sensitive (I took accidental pictures regularly) I also often switch it off and take pictures the "old way".
I like the J5 a lot with the 6.7-13 and 32 (that I got very cheap secondhand) I have all I need for "city" photography. Initial focus acquisition can sometimes be slow vs. a DSLR but I still need to experiment a bit more with my focus settings.

Arend, your photos are always a joy. It's as if you made these shots 40 years ago. True skill.

Well, not really.
40 years ago there were no cell phones, and women didn't wear rings in their noses either.
but nevertheless some very nice street candids.
I think the first two are outstanding!
