A follow-up to Scotland 2016

Simato (Simone Tomasi), who had to leave the Scotland 2016 event a few days early, came up to stay with us for a couple of days, in order to complete his much-needed education on all the natural wonders reachable from a base in Killin.

Day One was misty, cool and damp, but we visited Loch Awe, Kilchurn Castle, Glen Etive, Strath Fillan, Yellow Island, Loch Tay  and two aspen groves in full autumn colour.
Day Two was a iittle better; we-re-visited Loch Awe and the castle, and Glen Etive, and I introduced Simone to Loch Tulla, and Glen Orchy, another gem.

When Simone posts a few images we can decide whether he should be declared a fully-certified graduate of Scotland 2016. Meanwhile here's a couple of my weekend images.

8 hours of driving and 400 miles later, I have made it home.
It has become clear pretty soon that I am way too knackered to process the vast amount of pictures I have, so here goes a semi-random selection of photos.
Only resizing from in-camera JPEG's.

My thanks to David and Mayumi for the fabulous hospitality, I enjoyed every minute of this trip.

A nice reminder of this fabulous first main NG get-together ! Autumn in Scotland seems to worth the trip...

I enjoy specially all pictures of Kilnchurn castle : autumn colours and mist fits perfectly the  darkness and melancolic atmosphere of these ruins.

I am going to follow this thread !

1. Saturday - even the canoeists are heading home
2. Dusk on the Loch Tay flood-plain
3. Beech-tree beside Loch Tay
4. Cabin in Glen Orchy
5. Autumn on Yellow Island

Hospitality went both ways - Simone did all the driving (and paid for the fuel), and on Sat. night cooked the best risotto Mayumi and I have ever eaten.

I recognise many images but I totally missed the cabin, must have been looking another way.
