Akira, where do you get these clouds and how much do they cost?

John, indeed I've never, ever seen such clouds.

Originally I was shooting twelve frames for the stitching because I found the sky looks interesting.  But when I began to process the files, I found this particular area covered with three frames stood out.

Akira, where do you get these clouds and how much do they cost?

Jakov, the clouds were delivered via airmail, and you need to live in Tokyo and pay the inhabitant tax for more than thirty years to shoot such clouds!

An apt title! Well spotted. Those clouds do convey a sense of doom.

Some upper atmosphere turbulence going on here - the first snows have just fallen in the Japan alps.

Mike, thanks.  These couple of days the season seems to have rushed into autumn here in Tokyo.  The atmosphere is very moody.

Similar pattern can be seen in my image, too.  And, yes, the resulted AOV of my image is close to 35-45mm.

Possibly.  This year I've seen so many uniquely shaped clouds here in Tokyo.

I feel the houses in the foreground take almost all the attention away from the sky.

I would crop a lot off the bottom and darken the rest of the city to black and keep the silhouette only against the beautiful moody Munch inspired sky to make the emphasis much stronger.

Erik, thanks for your input.  That makes a lot of sense.  Here is an edited version according your advice.

I didn't use the local control, and darkening the city enhanced the ominous structure of the clouds even further.  I trimmed the top slightly to balance out the edit.
