Canon Roadshow
« on: October 23, 2016, 09:45:37 »
Canon SA has a roadshow twice a year, introducing new products and have 2 - 3 guest speakers (togs) showing their work and its meant to be inspirational to others. And often it is quite inspiring - especially if you see a 26 year old that is making such a success of his photography career.
anyhoo  - this was at the roadshow - ISO 6400 for the hell of it. I kind of liked the comp

Thanks guys.
I have Bob Friedman to thank for this awesome piece of glass!!!!!!!!

Jakov - its a bit different to my 10.5 I had before - in that close focus distance is 25cm and not as close as the 10.5 So the animals will have to be the bigger variety and not my dog :)

Imagine an elephant... or a lion...

Erik - yes. The lion. I am sure whahaha

Akira  - thank you - I loved the red - otherwise I would have done a B&W - especially at ISO 6400!

I have decided flash is NOT for me - and trying to put my fear of high ISO in the past. So far - so good.

Nice scene Elsa, what lens did you get ?

....

exactly ... and if possible exposing to the right works wonders, if not then careful processing  gets awesome images

With the d800 and my 24-85VR I have not needed to go beyond 6400 ...
I'm sure with the fisheye and good holding technique I wouldn't even need to go that far

Armando - I got a 16mm f2.8 from Bob. He generously sent it to me together with a manual focus 105 macro

Said Capa ended his life and photographic career that way, stepping on a land mine as far as I recall. A close enough encounter if there ever was one.

......Capa had stepped on a landmine. When they arrived on the scene, he was alive but his left leg had been blown to pieces, and he had a serious wound in his chest. Mecklin called for a medic and Capa was taken to a small field hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Damn Bjørn you are good...!!
