I completed second pass of processing and editing of the NEFs from this trip. Thus about time to show something less 'naturalistic'.

Shooting UV with long lenses in hot autumn weather is an exercise in the manner with which atmospheric turbulence and heat waves degrades image quality. Or does it? The end result tends to take on a painterly appearance entirely absent from the razor-sharp UV images one can get of landscapes under optimal conditions.

Here is a view of Stygghøin and Dørålglupen, a part of Dørålen and Rondane nature preserve. Taken in UV with my UV-only Nikon D3200 and the Reflex-Nikkor 1000 mm f/11 lens. I have modified the revolving filter disc on this lens to let one slot be without any filter at all, thus ensuring the maximum UV transmittance to the camera.
