I like the first shot, I would even more if there was a way of recovering those blown out highlights.
There is also some chromatic aberrations that you could take care of, especially visible in the top right.

Really lovely and brings back a lot of memories. 19 years ago I spent a summer on Isle Royale and the first picture brings me right back :)

Simone - thanks so much for the constructive comments. I'm planning to print this shot. I will surely make those changes before I do that.

Really lovely and brings back a lot of memories. 19 years ago I spent a summer on Isle Royale and the first picture brings me right back :)
It makes my happy when a photo does that. :)

Thanks John, pardon my delayed response. Yes, those ducks were moving fast. But I liked and kept the photo due to the lack of sharpness.
