I am traveling to France next week - working Pontchateau and staying in Pornichet.  Any great photo ops?

Hello Mark! Welcome to Nikongear!

We have some French members and I hope someone can help you.

Nice to hear from you. This is your first post. Congratulations!

You might want to tell us about you, show us some pictures in the "introduce yourself" area ... http://nikongear.net/revival/index.php/board,13.0.html

All the best

Frank

Hi Mark

Although I am French I won't be able to help much unfortunately. I have never visited the area...
Depending on whether you are ready to move around, the marvelous Island of Noirmoutier is a 80km drive to the south, and the huge megaliths area (hundreds of them in many alignements) of Carnac is about 100km towards West.
Still, welcome to NG and welcome to France!

Olivier

I've been on the other side, near St Malo. That is nice, but quite a drive from where you are.

But, not to worry, there is much to see along the coast, the tidal difference is huge and the sea is typically less docile  ;D

Some shots i took there (summer of 2015):
