Photography tour – get-together/tour/safari CAPE TOWN, South Africa

I am offering a photography tour to each Nikongear member between 1 October 2016 and 30 September 2017 – AT COST

This is a special offer to each member (photographers only)– for your first tour of your choice for 3 days. Longer tours can be discussed if you prefer to stay on.

What will this cost you?
Cost of hiring a vehicle – to be divided between members on tour.  No profit or costs for me. Should 2 – 3 members join – we will use my own vehicle – and cost thereof will be the same as rental of a vehicle. Fuel to be shared between members. Everybody is responsible for their own insurance.

No guiding fees will apply - No cost for my time – no profit for me.

Meals, entrance fees, activity fees (eg game drives and shark cage diving) for your own cost. Just like any other get-together of like-minded people.

Accommodation – I can accommodate between 3 and 5 members at any one time – at my own home (Air B&B). Cost – $15 per person per night. Or you can stay wherever you prefer. Should we do out of town trips – accommodation for your own account.

My tours are exclusive – which means I usually only take 2 -3 people maximum due to the size of my vehicle, and the different interests of photographers.  If there is a bigger group – obviously vehicle hire and accommodation costs will be affected. 

My tours are quite different to the usual standard tours – as we don’t only go where tourists go – each tour is unique to your field of interest – and you won’t be tied up to a time schedule.

It just would not be fair to my family and most of all to my young daughter.
I don't think there will be any of this kind of travel for me in the next several years.

I fully understand - my kids are grown now - but it took several decades for me to get to this point - so I really do get it.

Absolutely yes, I look/read your posts with interest, and a bit of envy.
And when the time comes that I am free to travel, I actually don't mind paying a fair amount.

Anthony - that would depend somewhat on what you want to photograph.

what is your preference?  Flower season on the West Coast is just about over. We are going into summer - so lots of birds now. We should also have good weather this time of year, through to April at least (but no guarantees of course)
Winter is preferable for shark breaching - although you get sharks all year round - just not as many breaching.
