Chicorium
« on: September 13, 2016, 22:36:59 »
In mid July I visited a mountain (Oiti) about 260 kms from Athens. The goal was to photograph butterflies and wild flowers (mainly). Here I post 9 pictures of the same flower (different plants)
taken at different times during the day, at different locations on the mountain. The first 3 with Df and 60mm G micro. The rest D500+TC-14E III+300mm PF.

Apparently Cichorium intybus can be captured with a variety of lenses, short or long. interesting that the 300 PF can do this well.

Hello Bjorn, I find that the 300 PF is a good match to the D500 giving very good results.
By the way, I bought 2 books last week. "The wild flowers of Greece" and "The wild flowers of Crete". There is overlapping but I think I should know, where it is possible, the names of the flowers I shoot. Will the trip to Crete materialize next April?

"Will the trip to Crete materialize next April?"

It is on the planned list of NG Events, yes. Probably a bit early to do the location and accommodation research yet, but don't procrastinate.

Once there is a time table and some kind of plans for where to stay, including a price estimate, the official announcement can be made for NG members to sign up. I usually book air flights at least 3 months in advance to get a fair price, so getting the date(s) is very important.
