Fortes fortuna adiuvat * Fortune favours the bold *  Das Glück ist mit den Tüchtigen

After a lot of reflection and discussion and a lot of very helpful comments I went back to the field for graduation.

Have you ever seen a wild bee's tongue?

The next one is a 100% crop in the sense that the bee covers 100% of the frame.

The Bee in flight is really nice - especially since I have never managed to get that right.

Nice and soft background and colours on the bee shots. The bumble bee is very sharp, and as Elsa says, the hover shot is superb.

I think you have passed your graduation now.  8)

My fav is the bee in flight. Have you thought of using some sort of flash for your bees/macros?

As a photo I like #1 over all the others, nice colors , light, composition and bokeh

the hovering shot is quite a technical achievement

Congrats and thanks for sharing your results

@Gary: The flash bee pictures I have seen so far were all textbook style. Very hard definition, no pleasing pictorial quality. I will now review today's shots for more Bees in Flight. I felt on the brink of reaching the next level today when...

... my AFS60Micro Workhorse suddenly refused to focus. Not only manually but also AF. There is no special sound but the focus ring suddenly has a lot more resistance. After some playing around the AF works soso, slooowly and sometimes stops halfway strangled...
