I try to shoot this show every year. It involves hundreds of dancers (from 5 to 40 years old) in a professional stage setting.
Last year I shot with a D750/D4 and Df. Lenses were mostly 24-70 and 70-200. A vast array of light sources created a WB nightmare so in post processing I had to choose what I remembered the scene like. Anyhow, here are a few of the images:

Very nice Sten! I know that the WB is a nightmare, but you seem to have managed just fine. I really like picture nr 5

wow, great series, really like the motion blur in 1538
and yes white balance in this cases becomes all about perception

Beautiful series Sten. Some of the shots look like a page from fairy-tale novel. My fav #7 and #8 in this series. Thanks for sharing

Damn these are good. You set the bar quiet high for me.
Remember WB is to a great extend quite subjective.
You edit as you like the end result. Many of us has a bias towards one end or the other of the scale.

Love #2 and 5.
When I was using D40, I had to shoot a concert. The lightings of prime color seemd to be difficult to handle with the Beyer sensor. The camera Sten used should be much more advanced, but I appreciate your sense of timing to capture beautiful moments of the theater.
The long black boxes on the front edge of the stage look like foot lights.

Very fine series of photos. Your concern about getting the white balance correct has been solved in my opinion. The colors are strikingly dramatic nicely complementing the action on stage.

Nice series indeed !
Never easy to cope with light available in this kind of photography.
I think the best (and easiest) way is to set the WB on ''auto'', and trust the machine...
Like most of us, i prefer the motioned image.
Cheers, Francis.

1538 is very special and I like the interaction between the cast in 6580
Generally speaking I would be very happy with these pictures if it was my play and you presented me these!
