Actually, this is a better result than I would expect from the 135/2 AI Nikkor. At least the samples I've used have been quite soft(-ish) in the near range, as you indeed would expect from the optical design. Not bad, just on the soft side. For landscapes the 135/2 did much better, but on a DSLR you need to remove some CA. Again, as expected from this quite old design of the film era.

Now, this is a lens I have yet to try with my Df. Perhaps I can do some quick tests in the near future. The 135/2 is patiently sitting there and waiting for me. It has like virtually all its sibling got the CPU upgrade.

Wow Fons! I had to see it on my big screen before appreciating the true beauty in your picture.

Sharp core and soft, dreamy petals, all great. Top it off with a beautiful colour composition, great stuff.
