Looking at these images, Mongo must say Fons that the Nikon software seems to do what it says. Specifically, No. 2 looks noticeably more detailed than No. 1. As a consequence, it looks (and may well be) sharper.

No.3 has a reasonable amount of defining contrast and as such also looks sharp and detailed

Mongo only wishes he could get the Nik software to work on his CS5 on his Mac but no luck so far so have given up wasting time on them. Shame, because they seem to work

Hi Fons,

I actually much prefer the original image. It doesn't need addtional detail or contrast to be pretty...

Very nice Fons.  I prefer the Nik'ed images.  Do you remember how much detail extractor?  Good job with Define.

Mongo notes that some are expressing a preference of which image or effect they like. Mongo simply reported the visible effect of the treatment to the images. This in no way is an expression of preference which is a different matter altogether. Maybe reporting both back to Foss might be helpful to him. In terms of preference, Mongo prefers 2 and 3 by a small margin over 1.

Totally agree.  The delicate colors and textures is rendered most pleasantly in #1.

I find the choice easy: the first one.
