I am aware of at least one D40 or D40X that was retrofitted with an M42 mount for IR/UV work.   ;D

if you want precision in custom made adapters for a resonable price
Zörkendörfer is the guy to make it for you. He is a genius.

A N to K adapter for close up will be an easy thing for him.

He will sure have a qualified opinion.

When I talked to him already years ago, he (Mr Zoerkendoerfer) told me, that he no longer does that ;-)
I have quite mixed feelings about his stuff, when one of his famous solutions fell apart....

I'd rather talk to the MD of Novoflex, whom I know, they make the best adapters and also make custom made ones!

Thank you Klaus. I talked to Zörkendörfer on Photokina and I know quite a few people who are happy with
his solutions. Yet you are right. He is a one man band and that can not be as good as Novoflex when it comes
to all product shipped to breaking product ratio. A lot of his product are one of a kind.

If Novoflex manages to sell a sturdy N to K piece or a Leicatex style replacement bayonet this could be a solution
fo people in love with K1. The latter could even sellin quantities.
