Very successful shot !

I like particularly its graphics and the contrast balance.

In addition, the frame matches perfectly.

there are two techniques involved in this image that I ignore completely : panorama & UV/IR... :(

Well done, Olivier ! :)

Thank you! Sometimes I get lucky.
The place also hosts a school and I was laught at (kindly, I'm sure!) by several kids and mums while I was crawling under the tree wearing an impeccable suit and my small camera...

Jakov: I don't see colors properly, so B&W is a natural choice!
And I saw Djokovic today. The game was quite imbalanced as they both played well but not on the same time. Indeed, he looked so serene and focused during most of the game, nothing could have diverted him from his objective. Except at the end, he clearly got nervous when he was nearing victory. It was almost comical to see the great champion get cold feet! Anyway, he deserved the win.

Olivier, I am sorry I didn't see the match as I was roaming the streets of Maastricht with some NG bandits  8)
Thanks for your comments! They are definitely better than Mats Wilander's  ::)
I am so proud!

Excellent composition as always, Olivier.  The scene is captured so unmistakably in your style that I wouldn't notice that it was shot in Japan, except for the torii as a hint.

I also wonder how you could stitch the images taken at such proximity with possible parallax so successfully.

Jakov, I am so sorry to hear that you were forced to waste your time in Maastricht with people obviously looking for trouble (it looks like you were even forced to dring beer, what a disgrace). You could have done so much better by watching TV at home...

Akira, I can't take any credit for the stiching of the image. I always shoot handheld (naturally this is the best possible way to shoot panoramas...) and throw everything is Kolor Autopano, which does it wizardry on command. And that is it!

Olivier, thanks for the disclosure.  I've onlly used Photomerge in CC2015 for my panos and hand-hold the camera to shoot relatively distant scenes trying to avoid any possible parallax.  Apparently or obviously the dedicated software is way more efficient.

I've never tried photoshop for panos, so can't comment.
To be frank, given my shooting protocol I often get parallax issues, and there is not much the software can do about it.

The parallax issue isn't apparent in your image(s).  The key might be that the software doesn't simply stitch rectangular portions but stitching the portions more in an intricate way.  Apparently the sophisticated software (Photomerge included) uses the best portion available for each particular areas.  The resulted stitches are far from linear.

yes, there must be some streching going on to have everything match, but I don't see how this could resolve parallax issues as they result of a change of vantage point.
Anyway, picture with such defaults go directly to the bin if they are too obvious.
3 AM in Tokyo now, no wonder I am somewhat tired... I just came back two days ago.
When do you sleep, Akira? This is another kind of wizardry!

Don't worry, Olivier.  I fall asleep anytime I feel sleepy anyway, either on the chair or in the "futon".  :D

Definately a tree worth shooting :) Even if you dont see the colors you have an eye for structure and contrast.
