I cannot prove it scientifically but with zooms I get good (perhaps the best) results entering the lowest focal lenght.  35mm/2.5 for the Angenieux zoom, 35/3.5 for the 35-70 ai and 80/4.5  for the 80-200/4.5N. It are unique combinations as well ;)  Combined with the CPU'd 17-35 these are the only zooms in frequent use.

How would you rate the 35-70 Ai? It's another lens that tickles my fancy

It's one of the best manual wide zooms of Nikon I would say. Very bright images. I love the rendering and colours. Very sharp in a natural way. Little distortion.

For me personally one drawback in general use is the close focus distance of 1 meter, but sharpness and the possibility to crop solves that in a way, if needed.

Fons. For my taste the micro contrast is a tad overdone here..

June 2nd 2016.  Cloudy, but not raining (yet)

A bit of boring photowork. City Hall wants for promote small gardens in the streets. The local Stadsfarm, run by volonteers, is also making special wooden crates or boxes for plants. A few volunteers are skilled carpenters.

City Hall plans now to order a number of these for use in the city. Hopefully the photo's can persuade them in ordering larger quantities ;)

Frank, that people in motion photo looks really nice. Personally I would have cropped a bit off the top, even though this facetted view also has it's merits (and a bike)

It reminds me a bit of a more mundane photo I took a while back

Which in turn reminds me of todays weather ;)

Catching up with June 2, which I spent driving back from Dijon. I could only snap a few shots late in the evening when back home. Work is eating all of my time these days, I've only been skimming the thread but I see very interesting roses.

Both shots handheld,  D750 with 50/1.2: night of the snails, on the street in front of the house, and the welcome back from the cat.
