Portraits with horses
« on: May 22, 2016, 16:38:29 »
Saturday afternoon

Quite complicated combining nervous models with huge horses, after a couple of hours the girls relaxed and thing flowed better

It's a very nice combination woman and horses.

I like the first one more, the pose, eye-contact,  and the model  ;)

Hi Armando,

You have access to an unlimited supply of good looking people (and horses!).
I would say these photos are not at your usual standard.
I see the first as a great opportunity: the way she looks at you is enchanting, but it is a pity the horse's head is not really in focus, and the fact that she is partly undressed is unnecessary here (and it is really related to the situation, I am not shocked at all!), for me at least.
The rope and chain do not help either.
Sorry if I sound negative, it is not often the case with your pictures!

Thanks Olivier,  and John

To be honest I had no idea how to get decent composition

I had to ask the model about the dress falling off , she said it was ok to use the image, but your right I'm not sure if it is in bad taste ...

I didn't imply it was bad taste, just that this specific image would work better (for me) without it!

they´re both interesting combinations in this environment - I like the idea
No 1 imo is better, because all 3 eyes are sharp and both models are looking into one direction, they seem to have common interests
in no 2 all seems to be more random and the unsharp horse is to dominating as foreground

I like both images! They work well on their own,,, No need to change anything.

Thanks for all the comments

I was a bit frustrated, 100+ images and very few that I liked

Here are a couple of the Friesian horses, stunningly beautiful!

I really like the last two Armando.

For #1 it's almost as if the horse is suggesting they could maybe go for a drink afterwards.....!
And your model is very photogenic - let us know if you use her for any more projects

Horses for courses. I think you did well for someone not that familiar around horses. I know a person who makes a living making photographs of horses and models combined. The subject of communication between human and equine model can be just as fascinating as trying to get a shot like the ones you were aiming for. When you grow more experienced and secure around horses instilling faith in the human models will become easier. Still, every time when a human and equine model meet each other for the first time, be patient. Take your time and do not pressure anything. Make sure there is plenty of room to move around for horse and human alike to prevent accidents.

Well crafted images as usual. I do like the first one best.
