17 May == Norwegian Constitution Day. The day where you prove to the world you really are a Norwegian. Music, flags, national costumes, and children parades until your head is spinning. If the mountains of ice cream didn't get you first.

The kids are going ballistic right now, but I am grounded because of fever and cough. The first time in 43 years I'm not able to participate. They will probably OD on ice cream and cakes ;D

Happy Constitution Day!

I experienced this in Bergen on the first NG tour to Norway, and enjoyed being an honorary Norwegian for the day.

A Happy 17th May Greeting from me & Ruth as well. Ruth wears her new inherited 'Bunad'. This selfie business is new to me, but I think I managed to get the framing all right.

Ingested copious amounts of industrial strength antibiotics every 6th hour for nearly a week now, so my mental capabilities are slowly returning. The physical side of the affair is in a sorry state, but all in its own time.

With that much antibiotics you're not suppose to feel well. It's killing all your "good guys" also. Hope you feel better soon!

Happy Norwegian Constitution Day!! I enjoyed that day tremendously when I was there. The bunads and other costumes were so beautiful!! I still have my little pin-on blue & red ribbon decoration. I will wear it today.

Børge, that's a super-cool photo of the Norwegian flag!! Love it.

Bjørn, is this a different bunad Ruth wears than from when I was there? I recall a black dress with embroidered flowers. Perhaps a nice full-length photo is in order??
