both images are very good examples of the Silver Effex effect.

Mongo also likes the images themselves; particularly the skies in #2

Thank you Mongo.
Not sure yet if I switch to Silver Effex.
I've always used the regular PS CC converter which is very good.

It's good to have options, sometimes I use the plugin, others I use the PS B&W conversion and play with the sliders

it is not a set rule

I prefer to stick to one tool and try to master it.
If I come to the conclusion that the sky convertion of Silver Effex is better, I'll stick to it.
I had some issues with the PS CC converter where some artifacts appeared on the sky of the picture. Not always.

Sometimes you have to use more tools, you use more lenses too, not?

Silver Effex is nearly unbeatable with skies. But has other weaknesses.  Nothing is perfect ;)

Thank you John.
That's what I'm looking for, better sky converter.
