A Village - step back in time

Matjiesfontein is a quaint village and the most haunted town in South Africa - it is seriously THE highlight on my Karoo trips - and I cant begin to tell you about the photo opportunities here. The world's shortest Bus tour happens every evening at 6pm - on a red London Bus-  The piano player in the Laird's Arms, calls everyone around to bring their drinks and join him on a trip down the street.
To visit Matjiesfontein is to step back in time. This tiny village, on the fringe of the Great Karoo, was founded in 1884 by James Doughlas Logan. Living history, life here is a tribute to the early Karoo, the Anglo Boer War and Queen Victoria’s England. Matjiesfontein is a bastion of Victoriana. Eat, drink and dive into the Past.
The photography equipment in the museum is extensive and very interesting.
The town uses the fire engine to water the trees.
The town has ghosts - several

Indeed they are very interesting places and images.

I wonder what the vials on the shelves of the museum are for?  For the Collodion processes?

Thanks Elsa, for the details.  The designs of the time are all interesting and very well thought-out.
