Dancers on the street
« on: May 09, 2016, 05:30:53 »
Saturday we - me an another 3 photographers - met with 4 dancers

We went out to the downtown streets for a few shots

People were curious and gave us space to do the shootings :)

Very fine set of "Ballerinas in flight"!  The captures are superb.  Did you use strobes?  Even if you do, the lighting look very natural.

The girl with "Fresh Love" shirt looks familiar...

Thanks Akira for commenting

I used the SB700, triggered by the on camera flash, flash exposure was in TTL mode
camera exposure in manual mode , the above shot was done at 1/3200 ISO 200 f/1.8

The only girl I knew is the one on the floor in the shot above. I had not met the one you mentioned before this session.

Thanks for the details, Armando.

I remembered the girl I mention resembled the model who appeared in some images by Thomas (the makeup artist) posted at FZ.  But it should be an accidental resemblance.

Yes, a kind of surrealistic image.

Thank you Fons

All shots were with the 85mm f1.8 afs

#3? the one I see as #3 in the gallery is the first image in this thread, since you think it is done with the 20mm you are probably referring to this one, the only wide one, done by stitching 2 shots

I wonder how you managed to stitch two shots with more or less moving ballerinas....

still, it was difficult for them to remain in a stable position. I guess you had to operate very fast.

I was wondering the same. You are fast.
My favorite is the second one. I can think of at least two more different framing that will work as well.
Nice work with the background in all the shots. I will like to try this as well... :)

  Thanks Armando

Gracias Paco

Have you seen the work of Jordan Matter ? he has some very nice shots of dancers outside a normal stage, often very nice shots and incredibly skilled dancers
