Trying my hand at stacking again. big aperture, f/5.6 many images (37) to create this picture. Is not so easy, i've found out, lots of stacking errors to correct. Interested what y'all think of it.

Big and many? Try f11 and 200 single frames ;)

I think you did a great job cleaning up the file. Did you take the background from a single file ?

Thanks for look-seeing. I appreciate it.

I know there are much deeper stacks, but this is just a normal flower. I just wanted it in this particular way. Anyway, a stack of about 15 - 20 images stacks a bit easier, with (typically) less stacking errors, especially when the aperture is F8 or higher.

I use Zerene Stacker for my focus stacking, it offers the option to edit the stack by choosing which image to favour with the brush. So, in a way yes i did take the background from a single file, but not totally the same.

For some "real" focus stacking, check out the work of Michael Erlewine and Bob Friedman on this forum (if you hadn't already).

Yes, indeed. Sharp and a creamy background.
