[Theme] Be brave. Shoot 'em in the back!
« on: May 05, 2016, 12:00:54 »
Most of the time, when taking a photograph of a person, a group of persons or an animal the photographer does his best to capture the face of said subject. Sometimes the brave decision would be to do the exact opposite. Having someone look out of a picture gives an interesting sense of direction to the resulting photograph.

I will try to post some examples to show what I try to get at here, but what I really hope for is to see work from you, showing how you use this to your advantage

Example 1, follow the leading lines which lead to the setting sun

Example 2, close up and just looking out of the frame

Examples 3 and 4, following a path leading away from you

Example 5, silhouettes

Example 6, anything goes really

Thank you Francis and golunvolo for joining in the fun. Both images fit in the theme perfectly :) How the ... did you catch that hare legging it like that!

Golunvolo, I really like the mood in your musician shot. Well seen and good use of negative space too

This image is the good example that the TC-16A works perfectly with my Df attached with the 300mm f/4.5 ED (non IF).

The only drawback consist to do a ''pre-focus'' as the optical system can only move few millimeters inside the TC. When you shoot, the TC makes the focus finer, so you can get AF with any compatible manuel lenses. :)

Note that the image was cropped.

Francis.

Thanks. It is by lack of post skills that you can not appreciate the shadow in the blue wall. It is another woman with a cello as well, duplicating the image. Oh, well...I should try harder :)

Andreas, that image make me sad. Nature walking away, giving us her back.
I agree about the light in the first shot.
