Scotland - the mothership has landed.
« on: May 03, 2016, 22:45:38 »
In other words, the advance party of Bjørn, Erik, Andrea and Jan Anne have crossed the seas and reached a far distant place where the stars are strange and the inhabitants speak no known language. So they will get along fine with Bjørn, who speaks Norwegian . . .

A last word about The Lodges.
1) Many Scottish roads are in a very poor state; there are pot-holes the size of a boardroom table. It is shameful, but drivers - beware.
2) Check-in time is 4pm. I will be there from about 2.30, hoping to finish the final bits of prep, and in case anyone else is early.
3) Once through the Lodges gate, watch out for sharp little speed-bumps which are quite difficult to see.
4) Reception is a portacabin, about 200m straight down the hill. They will direct you to our 3 lodges which are all together. I will be there.
5) The onsite cafe/bar/restaurant is NOT open for breakfasts - this was a misunderstanding on my part. They are open some days from 11am to 11pm, and other days 4pm to 11pm,
closed on Tuesdays. I have a suggestion to make about our evening meal on the 7th, but it can wait until we are all together.
6) The deal on wifi is not very good but it is all we are going to get. Everyone gets 20min free per day in the lodges - above 20min there are charges - and there is free wifi all the time in the restaurant.

That's it, folks. Travel safely, and I'll see y'all on Saturday.

I think you are right, Thomas, but I suspect that some of the others may want to do some photography occasionally.   ;D

Thanks for the update, Dave.

I expect to arrive around 4pm, depending on how quickly we clear the airport and on traffic.
