modern Zenit lenses
« on: April 19, 2016, 12:18:42 »
i am going to start a new thread regarding the new lenses from Zenit (modern). :o :o :o

http://bokeh.digitalrev.com/article/first-glimpse-of-new-zenit-lenses-zenitar-50mm-f-0-95-50mm-f-1-2-and-85mm-f-1-2

let me start with this:

the 50mm f/1.2, i do not understand why this thing should be so big. i do not believe that this has AF so i do not get the logic behind this since nikon already has a similar lens that is no bigger than the 50 1.4 AF.

You need to provide a bit more details, link or images to enable us to understand,,,

I know of a 50mm f/0.95 Zenitar - And that is big - as one would expect,,,

That is the biggest 50mm I've ever seen.

This is indeed big, seems bigger than the 0.95 version.

Stanislav Gavryushin, senior sales and marketing manager gave an interview
http://photowebexpo.ru/article...

some highlights:
"prototypes assembled just week ago"
two lenses in CaNikon mounts:
50/1.2: 10/7 elements, 1200 gram [the design will likely be changed]
85/1.2: 9/7 elements, 900 gram, expected availability: 2017
in E-mount:
50/0.95, 9/8 elements, 900 grams, MFD: 0.7m, 72 mm filter
"L"-shaped aperture iris, expected availability: 2017
"made for modern digital sensors"
"high resolution" and "good bokeh"
nikon F chipped and has auto-aperture pin
"50/0.95 sharp from wide open"

Q:why don't you release m43 lenses?
A:we decided to release first [mirrorless] lens in Sony E, but maybe later m43, 2016-2017, at least one. I think it will be a wideangle, at least it's how it's planned.
Q:which will be market price?
A:up to $500.
Q:same price?
A:about same price.
Q:.... I hope they will soon reach shelves.
A:Yes, 50mm [probably the SLR/1.2] will in this year for sure.
