Was that the racing event in England you went to instead of the Utrecht meeting?
Well worth it. Real characters, representing a certain social group...
Yes, it was. I was there for an online publishing magazine (monochrome-watches). Unfortunately there was not time enough for descent shooting. And I missed some great photographic opportunities because I did not have my press badge at the time. Better next time. I must say that I got infected by the atmosphere around classic car races. It is much more relaxed and there is a lot of cameraderie between the drivers. An ex-F1 driver told me that the situation is quite different in F1 racing.
I am not sure what you mean by 'social group' but I talked with some people and they were incredibly nice, gentle and kind. The common denominators are country life and classic car racing. People do not have a problem when you take photos (the photographers badge helps. The guy in #6 offered to pose for me without his phone but I liked this one better because of the contradiction. But I am sure that - like everywhere else - there are also snobs.
btw.#7 and #8 were folks from IWC, the watch company; #4 was a journalist from Sweden. The women in #5 is Amanda Stretton, who used to be a famous race driver herself in the GT40 class.
Offtopic: I am not sure what is better from an environmental perspective: classic car racing or F1 racing, but that's another story.
