Last saturday morning I was shooting a few birds in my garden. At some point i noticed a strange curved line across a photo. It looked a bit like lens flare, but i was shooting away from the sun. Looking through the rest of the photos, i first found that this line was not present in all photos (despite all photos being shot from the same position in the same basic direction in a relatively short time). I then continued looking through photos, and found in three photos a strange black object at the edge of the photo, but moving around from shot to shot. This had definately not been visible in the viewfinder.
I immediately rushed to our local Nikon agent. The technician determined that tbe shutter was broken, and showed me a visible hole in the curtain (explaining the "flare line").
My first concern is that the camera is relatively new (8 months). More worrying rhough is that they said it would take 4-6 weeks, as they had no spares in stock. They had some on order, but these were already allocated.
Since then i have received a couple of e-mails from them saying that the repair will take longer than expected, as there is a worldwide shortage of spares.
So the question is, does anybody here know if there is an inherent problem with the D750's shutter?
