Andrew at the Dunes Death Valley
« on: April 06, 2016, 16:08:00 »
Another picture of a Photobud taking pictures from our Excellent Adventure to Death Valley fourteen years ago. I only take these because all that clean desert air starts to give me a headache after about ten minutes and taking photos of people helps to relieve the symptoms.
This is Andrew, the skiing dentist who is an outstanding Snow ski and Water ski photographer.
motorized Nikon F2AS
zoom-Nikkor 80~200 2.8 ED AIS manual focus
Fuji 100 ISO colour slide
probably f8 @ 1/1000th.

I shoot with film. That's film. F...i...l...m. You remember film. It was in all the papers.

Cool photo! I love that looooooong shadow.

I had to laugh that the clean desert air gives you a headache! I got one there too. But I think in my case it was from the strong sunlight reflecting off everything

Andrea,
Thanks for commenting.
I have no interest in photographing beasts, birds, or buttes, and only do so when I'm dragged kicking and screaming by my photobuds.
My passion is candid street and PJ, so when I do find myself in Nature's Splendor, after about ten minutes I start taking pictures of my photobuds taking pictures, just to keep from thrusting sharp sticks into my eyes.

There are always oodles of interesting (or scary) tourists at these places although usually not many actual streets.

I love Death Valley. I do understand the clean air response ... My body reacts similarly when I eat a salad.

What a cool shot.  The lighting is perfect and I love that curve of the dune at the top.  Great stuff, Robert.

Gary,
Sprinkling a lot of Bacon bits in the salad will counteract that effect.

Thanks Rick.
