At the culmination of an outdoor fitness class the tutor required the participants   pair up and give a piggy back lift to their partner, I cannot help but feel the lady on the right has drawn the short straw !

Thanks. Yes, that was the way I framed it.  I am comparing the 180/2.8 ED AiS with the 180/2.8 ED IF AF first version,  but I find  the first AF 180/2.8 is better. Perhaps the Ais sample is not 100%...

Grey cold and rainy day so inside test today. First use of a 1936 Contax CZJ 135/4 Sonnar I got cheap on a flea market. Mounted on Sony NEX5 via a custom made adapter.

Colin, I haven't tried Vindaloo.  That looks great.  I'll look for one offered in an Indian restaurant here in Tokyo.  Thanks for the info!

Feb 13th:
Festival day. Saraswati Puja (Hindu goddess for wisdom, knowledge, music; Greek equivalent Athena, Roman equivalent Minerva) at neighbour's place.
This occasion is widely celebrated in every single school in Bengal and few other Northern parts of India. Prayers followed by traditional meal: Khichdi, a dish from cabbage, Papad, Tomato "chutney", sweet dish.
