Speedlight on cable
« on: March 10, 2016, 18:42:12 »
Can anybody tell me if a D800 or D4 can control the exposure of a Nikon speedlight connected to the camera by flash cable?

Depends on the cable. If it is the "PC" type, no, otherwise yes.

With the D800E I could change the flash exposure of a wired SB400 with the flash exposure button and dials ment to control the built-in flash, a huge improvement over the D3s which didn't have this capability and neither did the SB400 itself. If I'm not mistaken Nikon corrected this design fault with the D4.
