Fons, I'm afraid I'm not sure.  I've seen this particular tree for around ten yeas, but I don't think I've ever seen any fruit in it.

ha! just fixed this lens last weekend hahaha.

amazing lens for the price! which one is yours? the original version?

this is ume? then it is plum flowers. yes, it does bear fruits. my baby's chinese name is 春梅 because she was born in the spring and ume flowers are known to be tough. ume also has important significance for crane style kungfu people.

Rick thanks for the comment.  Mine should be one of the last incarnation.  As is designated with "C", it is multi-coated and factory Ai'ed.  The lens is in a pristine condition and very well serviced.

The flower is ume, but the pink color of the petals is a bit stronger than that of more usual ume.  So, it may be of some different species.

春梅 is a very pretty name.  :)

Don't ask me how much I paid for mine.  The most part of the price should be for the service cost.   ::)
