Voigtlander 125mm APO-Lanthar VS. & El Nikor APO 105mm
« on: March 05, 2016, 00:02:17 »
Shots taken with two lens, same light, Nikon D810, Zerene Stacker, within minutes of one another. A little post development, as usual, but look at how different they look, in terms of color, etc.

The first is El Nikor APO 105mm f/5.6 and the second is Voigtlander 125mm APO-Lanthar f/2.5

Interesting.

There is an appreciable shift in hue indeed. I would normally not consider the APO-Lanthar to be a "cold" lens so that might imply the EL-Nikkor is "warm" ?? Assuming of course the light regime was unaltered between the captures.

It was all the same, so the El Nikkor is warmer. I will do some more comparisons of the two. Both are great, but at least in these two shots taken minutes apart, they are very different.

hmm, how was the white balance done? With lenses having obviously different transmissions, especially in the blue wavelength, I would have done an individual white balance upfront.

I do some more tomorrow with careful white balance.

My interpretation was the images should cover the same field. This of course will imply different perspectives as the focal lengths are not identical. Magnifications ought to be pretty similar, though.
