Cheated Death Once Again

A bit dramatic, but my wife did have recent fairly serious surgery that she is recovering. So far, so good. Her usual smile is starting to come back.

Taken with the surreptitious Fuji X-E1 and the superlative 56mm f1.2 lens.

Thanks for the kind comments. I'll credit the unique properties of the Fuji X sensor and processing for its film-like rendition more than my meager skills.

Sorry about your troubles Mike and hope that things turn out well for you.

My wife had a 90% blockage in one of her carotid arteries that was fortunately discovered by our very good doctors. Surgery was scheduled quickly as the neurosurgeon really didn't provide any other options. Things went well and she is recovering well at home.

Mike, did I misunderstand from another thread you were on you way to recovery ? I certainly hope that is the case and that you get better soon

Bob, a nice image of your wife. In a reflective mood by the looks of things.  That 56mm Fuji of yours looks like a killer optic in your hands.

The latter part of my late mother's life was ruined by strokes.  Your wife has made a very gutsy, but wise decision in respect of lessening the risk of future stokes.  May things go really well for her (& yourself) from here on.

Thanks for the well wishes. She is getting maybe a bit too active. Ha. I'd like her to rest more, but I guess that's a good sign.

Hugh, the 56mm is Fuji's equivalent to Nikon's 85mm f1.4 and just as amazing. The superior primes are a joy to use.
