Many thanks, Akira - yes, you're right .. hadn't seen that myself  :) When I processed the image I saw a ghost like figure with a face reaching out for the plane :o

Well, I can understand why - I admit it is processed a tad to the dark side :) Replaced with a brighter version.

The skies on the island of Texel are fantastic, a reason to visit even for this phenomena.

Thank you, Nasos, for the comment.  Maybe you are right.  Stitching vertical frames could have been more appropriate.
