Extremely dark, fast moving and typically the worst lighting possible.  Say hello to blaring 100% red or blue lights, say goodbye to technical quality.
Yes ;-)
But, cameras are getting better. I can do stuff now that was nearly impossible 10 years ago.

Agreed, but they still have room to improve.  I shot a show Saturday where the lighting was so low (and all red) for the last band, that f/1.2 at iso 51,200 was still significantly under-exposed.  :(

Why did you stop at 51200 and not 64000? Or even 12K (you shoot a D750, right?)?.

51,200 is the maximum Iso on the D750, being Hi2.  I have gotten images at 51,200 when absolutely necessary, but have found 20,000 to be around the limits for me in general.  Worlds away from my days with the original 5D, Minolta 7D or the D70, but I still look forward to improvement.  Another 2 stops would let me shoot bands that are nearly off limits currently.
