I decided to try out monochromes on  the Olympus E-M1 III with a couple of twists.  I used the setting for a software "red filter" (which I thought might use just the red pixels).  The resulting JPGs were in color which surprised me, but mainly red with a little yellow.  So I guess the other pixels weren't entirely neglected in JPG processing.  At the same time I used an actual red (25A) filter on the lens, an Olympus 40-150 f/2.8, to try to emphasize the red pixels.

In raw processing I still had to desaturate, but it was off a nearly monochrome image produced by a monochrome setting.  So, I'm going to post in this thread since the camera setting said "monochrome".  ;)

We don't get a lot of snow here.  This winter we had two snowfalls.  These are from the first one which was pretty and didn't last long.  The second one was not nice, not pretty and made a mess of the entire south central region of the US.  These were done with a D700 and a 70-300mm.  Blue and white.

That first tree with snow has strong graphic impact.

Paco, to thee I bow--always wonderful, memorable images--and to everyone else as well--really enjoy all these images.

We had our first proper snow last night, and the monochrome season has begun (This is Vermont, and this is what I see out my back door):
