For scenes like this, one really just has to rely on the AF and hope for the best. The fog was so thick I couldn't hardly see any detail, except for an indication of the sun, with the naked eye.

It will look so awesome on a large print. I didn't realize Laphroaig has more than one use.

Scotch whisky is the "water of life" and has many uses. Sometimes it is best to plan such uses before the level is getting too low in the bottle

Laphroaig itself is probably an acquired taste. It happens to be the favourite of the NG Team and as such an required addition to our meet-ups.

I wonder whether the "filter" is an optical one or software.  An orange optical filter will make the image jaggy because of severe reduction of the blue/green channel info.

I liked the way the image turned out. And I love my Laphroaig.

Frankly, Loch Ness as such was a little disappointing - one had to apply a very generous amount of imagination to consider this Loch anything else than a very ordinary glacially carved fjord lake, i.e. the kind of lakes we have in droves back home.  In this endeavour, Laphroaig certainly extended a helping "hand" as it were.

The shot was taken from the non-opening window seat (right hand side in this case) of a Cessna 172 at about 3000' altitude. Probably needless to state to any viewers I have but direction of shot is critical. Directly into the sun is great, 90 deg away is just another shot. The small photo was taken on the same flight and breaks your thread rule but a) illustrates this perfectly and b) is my "front yard" :-)

That is a superb city scape in my book. Taken from a plane or from a drone???
